[ La vetta Concept 1 ]

An emphasis on uniqueness and practicality with stringent selection of materials

The selection of materials for La vetta is not about making something generic, but rather uniqueness. The rugato line, which was our first collection, utilizes Rugato Shoulder, which is made by Belgian tanners using leather from the shoulder part of cattle. This leather has an exquisite texture, so much so that it is referred to as a "jewel among leathers." We use this leather's unique patina to create one-of-a-kind, highly original products. La vetta products draw on careful selection of materials that makes the most of design and functionality while also offering a unique look and feel.

Advanced expertise and abundant knowledge born from a desire to take on new challenges

A young second-generation heir to the business is the one responsible for making La vetta wallets. Since his father worked on bags, he wanted to carve out his own domain and learn techniques from wallet craftsmen in order to master the art of wallets, boldly employing techniques that take time and effort, such as accordion folds, shirring the corners of rounded edges, and leather edge creasing. Accordion folding in particular is a technique that very few artisans are technically capable of performing, and it takes considerable time to implement, so many shy away from it.

Pick Up Technic 1 [ fuukinmachi ]
fuukinmachi(Accordion folds) have a very complex structure, making it difficult to create this three-dimensional shape. This calls for precise techniques that accommodate the thickness and characteristics of the leather being used. Unlike traditional gussets, accordion folds open outward, so they do not get caught on your bills or business cards, making moving things in and out of the wallet easier.
Pick Up Technic 2 [ Kikuyose ]
This technique is used to gather and smooth excess material that forms at the edges of corners. Excess leather that forms at right angles must be neatly and uniformly shirred into place and layered together to create a curve. This product features very careful shirring around the edges for an exquisite finish.
Pick Up Technic 3 [ Nenbiki ]
Nenbiki(Leather edge creasing) is used in the luxury men's lines, and is an important pass that greatly enhances the appearance and final finish. Furthermore, it also makes the edges of the product more resilient. These lines run adjacent to stitches and give a clean impression to enhance the look of the finished product.

Pursuit of functionality and ease of use

The second-generation heir to the business says he wants people to feel for themselves how easy these products can be to use. "I didn't like how rounded clutch wallets have a zipper around the coin purse." During the design stage, he tweaked the height of the divider and the position of the zipper such that coins do not fall into the gap during normal use, even without a middle zipper. Extra care was given to unseen aspects of the wallet, such as devising a way to attach the zipper so that it can be opened and closed smoothly.
